The
reason for the choice of this particular
composite is in its formula. Many
composites are made from recycled
plastics and a mix of wood or agricultural
fibers overtime, lesser quality products
can break down - not Portico. Portico
composite decking is made from a tested
formula of furniture quality maple
wood flour encapsulated in strong
100% virgin high density polyethylene
(HDPE).
The
maple flour was chosen because it
doesn't bleach like oak or pine and
create stains. Maple also accounts
for a nice consistent color throughout
the board.
The
virgin high density polyethylene has
been found to be stronger than recycled
polymers. The result is a product
that is more consistent, more natural
looking and of higher quality than
those with lesser ingredients.
Portico
boards are designed to perform. Ultra-violet
light inhibitors are a part of its
chemical composition minimizing color
variations and to insure the product
stays beautiful long after installation.
Design
options are easy with Portico and Portico Eclipse, there
are four natural colors to choose from and a reversible
board with either a brushed finish or a deeply embossed
woodgrain finish that improves wearability. And its
backed by a 20 year warranty.
Deck
builders should know that Portico Composite Decking
is built with them in mind. The product is limited in
production, distributed only through independent lumberyards
who serve professional deck builders.
